We bring together players or singers to meet in the home, usually around a piano, to explore and enjoy a wide range of music, loosely defined as classical. We're always open to new members with appropriate musical experience, which is sight-reading and playing of music at grade 8 or above.
The group attempts anything from baroque to romantic and beyond, according to taste and the combination of instruments that day. And of course, we have regard to our players’ technical abilities! Flexibility is our keynote!
Currently, the group comprises violin, clarinet and piano. Our players also have saxophone and tenor (voice) skills. We would love to expand: music can, after all, be found (or arranged) for almost any combination! It would be great, for example, to form string or wind groupings, working with or without a piano. Our pianist is also keen to work with singers wanting to explore Lieder or other solo items.
