We meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am. Our visits usually last between 2-3 hours. We visit a range of different nature reserves across Hampshire from those on the coast, within the New Forest or to the chalk downlands of the Test Valley. It all depends on where the birds are likely to be at that time of year.

The group having a rest during a visit to the coast

The group aims to look for and learn to identify birds in their natural habitat. There is a range of birding experience in the group from those new to bird watching to more experienced birders who are always willing to share their knowledge with the rest of the group. All you will need is a pair of binoculars and some warm, waterproof clothing and footwear. Between meetings, we share anything interesting bird-related via a WhatsApp group.

Over the last year, our programme has included visits to the coastal areas of Keyhaven, Lymington and Warsash, to Acres Down in the New Forest and Martin Down in North Hampshire.
