We met for lunch in Tudor House, Southampton, followed by a guided tour of the house and garden.  The Tour Guide was a very experienced historian.  He described the planting in the beautiful garden, protected by a canon which was probably from the ill-fated Mary Rose, and much of the early history of Southampton.  The house was typical of much of the town before parts of it were bombed in the second world war and shows structural changes that have been made over the centuries.  Everyone enjoyed the outing.
