12 members of the group enjoyed a 6 mile walk from Tilery Road carpark which is located up a track behind the Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst.
The route was on all-weather cycle tracks through various Inclosures between Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst.
On our way we passed by the grassy Frohawk ride which commemorates the work of the naturalist Fredrick W Frohawk, renowned for his butterfly recording work in the New Forest.
The walk was followed by a well-earned lunch at the Snakecatcher in Brockenhurst.
