On 4th February the Theatre Goers group ventured into Winchester to see Cosi Fan Tutte at the Theatre Royal. It's rare to find an opera being performed at a small theatre so we were all intrigued. As seems to be usual nowadays, it was in modern dress; opinions in our group varied as to how successful this was. The singing was excellent and the keyboard player interpreted Mozart's music with great skill. We were all used to Italian with subtitles, which meant that we struggled with the English lyrics, which were often difficult to follow. It meant that some of the jokes escaped us, although there was a fair bit of visual humour to keep us entertained. 

Altogether it was an interesting experience, enjoyed more by some than others!
