Despite the lack of sunshine at Bentley Wood, some of us managed to spot Purple Hairstreaks fluttering high in the Oaks. We also had good numbers of Ringlets and Large Skippers together with good views of Gatekeepers and the superb Silver-washed Fritillaries along with a few Meadow Browns, Commas, Marbled Whites and Green-veined Whites, and a Brimstone back in the carpark. Birds seen were Red Kite, Buzzard, Raven, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Swift, Wren, Chaffinch, Blackbird, Robin & Wood Pigeon.
