Annual General Meeting

Romsey Archway u3a held its Annual General Meeting on the 11th of April in Crosfield Hall. In front of many members, sustained by tea and coffee prepared by our volunteers, the Chair opened the meeting. As is customary the AGM is chaired by our Secretary, Anita, who then asked Dave to present his annual report, highlighting the year’s achievements and challenges. This was followed by a detailed overview of the financial position, ensuring transparency and accountability to all our members.

The call for new volunteers was reiterated, emphasizing their vital role in the success and growth of the u3a. Members were encouraged to step forward and contribute their time and skills to various ongoing and future activities.

The meeting noted the success of trips and social events over the past year, which were well-received and attended by the members.

After approving the report, the next item on the agenda was the election of officers for the coming year. The officers were elected unopposed and are listed here. The draft minutes will be uploaded shortly, and will be approved at the 2025 AGM.

The meeting then thanked those committee members who were standing down. Their contribution and support were acknowledged.

Following the formal proceeding, the audience had a presentation by the local cancer support charity, Jane Scarth House. The presentation shed light on their invaluable support services to our community. The presentation detailed the approach taken to support those affected by the diagnosis of cancer, including the family, close friends and partners.

Further details of their activities and the support they can give can be found on their website.
