We met on a lovely sunny afternoon at Landford in the New Forest to look for fungi and other seasonal wildlife.
This was part of our program to visit various local sites of natural interest in turn, so that we see them through the seasons. As that area of the forest is rich in beech trees, the foliage made a lovely back drop to our search for mushrooms and other fungi. We found a dozen different species of fungus, at least 3 lichens, a springtail and some woodlice. Back at the car park we enjoyed a simple picnic and a chat before heading home.
