Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

At the end of June, the group, including several new members, met at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens for a slightly more relaxing walk than usual. However, with good weather, we explored the award-winning garden and arboretum. The walk took us from the formality of the Centenary Border to the Himalayan Valley via the pond. In the Woods, we viewed the pigs, which were doing what pigs do best - reducing the density of the ground layer and breaking up soil to promote regeneration. While those of us who are members tend to have a slightly fixed route around the garden, it was good to see the gardens from a different perspective.

To finish, we returned to the Garden Restaurant for an excellent lunch. Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend time in good company.
