Contrary to popular belief, chess is not a difficult game to learn, though it is a difficult game to master. However, relative beginners, once they have learnt the basics, can have a decent game against one another.
The group contact has played competitively at club level for about 30 years and usually wins more matches than losses. The group contact hasn't played seriously for years and sees this as an opportunity to start playing again. Although a bit rusty, the group contact is happy to help beginners who wish to learn the game.
